NICS, Korea Fall Gathering-2006
The mission of NICS is to establish a worldwide network of international Christian schools staffed by qualified Christian educators, instilling in each student a Biblical world-view in an environment of academic excellence and respect for people of all cultures and religions.

NICS started in the Republic of Korea with the establishment of International Christian Schools. Presently, NICS operates 17 schools in 13 countries. Plans are underway for expansion into other major cities around the world.

Our Vision Statement proclaims, "Reaching the world for Christ through international Christian education.

NICS HISTORY--WRITTEN BY: DR. JOE HALE, PRESIDENT & FOUNDER

Year NICS Started:  The first NICS school actually started in Uijongbu, Korea, in 1983.  NICS, however, was not incorporated until 1991.

How NICS originated:
The ministry impact of the schools we started in Korea made many of our team wonder if the same strategy could work in other countries as well.  Two years of research, and much seeking of God's direction, led us to feel that an organization like NICS was needed, and could be very effective in reaching the world for Christ.

How we came up with the name:
We wanted an organization where individual schools could draw from each others strengths rather than just be an association of individual schools; we felt that a "family" of schools could be much stronger than individual schools trying to do everything on their own.  Our theme verse was Eccl. 4:9-12, where the idea of a "threefold-cord" is presented.  We felt that schools could be more effective by working together, thus the word "network."

Our NICS Vision: Our vision is simple:  to impact the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ!  Certainly this is a bigger vision than that of building an organizational structure.  Our desire is simple obedience to God's command to take His glory to all nations.

Countries President has lived in since serving with NICS:
Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore.

Positions President has served in with NICS:
During the early years, all of us involved wore a lot of "hats."  I pastored and started new churches for several years in Korea; I did evangelistic work, helped with orphanage ministry, taught in seminary, taught Korean language, served as chancellor/founder of the schools, recruited teachers, and filled in wherever I was needed.  I now serve in the Home Office of NICS, primarily responsible for the overall ministry, especially working with expansion and new projects.

NICS Prayer Requests:   We have so many needs right now:
--A development program to help raise the needed funds for the opening of new schools,
--A new office that specializes in project management, to help new and struggling schools to get through their start-up years.
--Several additional recruiters.
--We need to build our own headquarters building.
--NICS has an overwhelming number of inquires for new schools, as well as existing schools who desire to join us.
--We need major upgrading of the use of technology, etc.
