“Thank-You” seems so trivial, but when someone does something wonderful for you, NOT saying “thank-you” seems so inappropriate! This is just a small way for us to say a heartfelt thanks to some folks who have gone out of their way to do acts of service that really matter. Thank you for your heart of service! Thank you for your thoughtfulness! Thank you for allowing God to use you to reach out to others!

THANK YOU TO SOME SPECIAL FOLKS!

FedEx

Another request was sent to FedEx to help with the needs of the children of Afghanistan, and another “YES” came in reply. FedEx will again be shipping a container of supplies to the OASIS ministry in Kabul. Special thanks to the tremendous friends at FedEx for helping us get needed supplies to Kabul to help with our school there, but also goods to be distributed by our students and co-workers to the children of war widows—a group desperately in need! Also a special thanks to Broadway Baptist Church for supplying the goods for these children.

Gifted Girls Help AVA, Belem, Brazil

For kids summertime often translates into sunshine, swimming pools, vacations, no school, television time, and hanging out with friends. It is a season of relaxation, sleeping in, and doing what you want to do. For Brooke, Kalee, Ashley, and Mackenzi of Muncie, Indiana, summer has been defined by different activities and a distinctive perspective. These 4 young middle-school girls began their summer by listening to an opportunity. Their youth pastor and friend had shared with them that he was going to be a missionary with the Network of International Christian Schools, departing for the sake of the Gospel to share the love of Jesus Christ with the young people of the world. Disappointed that he was leaving, the girls talked it over among them. There was undoubtedly a choice to be made. Would they convert their feelings into actions of sulking, sadness, and even bitterness about saying good bye? After talking it through they decided to choose the higher ground and step out in the name of the gospel as well. They decided they too wanted to contribute and commit to touching the children of the world.

With empty pockets the idea of a summer fundraiser came to their minds. They would spend their summer time and energy collecting items for a garage sale. It was decided that the money would be used to minister and not for their own personal wants and needs. After much time spent planning and preparing, the girls had a very successful garage sale… so successful they decided to do it again the next summer and bring their total gift to nearly $400.00 for the Amazon Valley Academy. If you ask them, you will truly see the great heart behind this great gift. There is a belief in each one of these girls that God will use their gift to impact the lives of many.

What is beautiful and inspiring is the innocent generosity and driven desire to contribute. With small hands they took on the burden of Christ to advance His kingdom. Eternally their giving hearts have had an impact that this world will never know. There are hundreds and perhaps thousands that give sacrificially to the great work the Lord is doing through N.I.C.S each year. It is my hope that each ministry partner and supporter might be encouraged by these 4 young girls that are contributing alongside of them. N.I.C.S and their missionaries stretched out to the corners of the world are grateful for all who make this ministry possible. It has been a delight for us to watch with our own eyes an ounce of the impact those generous gifts have had.
